Scholarship Student

Matt completed a Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of Calgary. He is currently pursuing his Master of Science in Biomechanics from the University of Calgary, under the supervision of Dr. Walter Herzog and Dr. Matt Jordan. His research seeks to establish the reliability and validity of two load-velocity jump protocols, with the goal of predicting on-ice acceleration performance in long track speed skating athletes.

During his undergraduate degree, Matt completed an internship with the Calgary Flames. He also spent 3 years as a Strength & Conditioning Coach in the private sector, working with athletes ranging from developmental to elite across multiple team sports. Since joining CSI Alberta, Matt has spent the majority of his time with the Olympic Oval Program, where he works with upwards of 80 developmental speed skating athletes per week.
